Doug Caven

Prior to joining David W. Bogart Associates, Inc. in 2008, Mr. Caven was the Safety Coordinator for EWEB in Eugene, Oregon. His duties during his 28 years with EWEB included 14 years in safety and risk management. Mr. Caven also held positions in Risk Management, claims management and claims adjusting, and for the last 8 years as the manager of safety for the utility company. At EWEB, his duties included safety program development, hazard identification and control, development of the utilities emergency plans and coordination of emergency response throughout the utilities territory, safety training and program development, and management of the utilities construction activities.

In addition to his duties at EWEB, Mr. Caven served on the board of directors as vice president for the Oregon Utility Notification Center and the Lane County Utility Coordinating Council. In addition he has served on the Oregon Utility Safety Committee and worked with that committee on the revisions to the Overhead Lines Safety Act. Other professional activities include serving as a past president of the Cascade Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).

Mr. Caven attended the University of Oregon. He is a National Safety Council Certified Utility Safety Administrator, holds a 30 hour OR-OSHA Safety and Health certificate, an OR-OSHA Certificate of Safety and Health Management and is a confined space trainer, certified by D2000. He is an avid rafter and is vice president of the McKenzie Guide Association.
