Shaping The Future:

SSE takes an active role in shaping the future of the safety profession. The Intersociety relations Committee maintains a liaison with other professional societies and groups worldwide to share concerns, goals and strategies that are important to members and the profession at large. The Government Affairs Committee maintains ongoing contact with government agencies including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Recognizing growth in the profession, as well as a need for even more comprehensive services, the ASSE Board of Directors chartered the A Foundation in 1990. Designed to provide professional development and financial resources to qualified individuals and non-profit organizations, the Foundation seeks to advance safety and health development, research and education in the public interest.
