Regional Safety and Risk Manager

LOCATION: Los Angeles LAX

Position Description :

Maintain Regulatory Safety Requirements for Western Region. Regulatory requirements include OSHA, DOT, and EPA compliance. Lead the team through regulatory audits; work with compliance officers as needed.

• Lead and support the safety agenda through team interaction which will include the Safety Empowerment Team and the Accident Review Team.

• Coordinate and conduct safety training such as Management Training, Regulatory Compliance Training and Ergonomics Training.

• Manage the after-injury process. This will include monitoring transitional duty/time loss, maintenance of the OSHA/Safety Link Logs, and execution of Employee Intervention Process.

• Analyze injury and accident trends and create, influence and implement prevention counter measures.

• Create, maintain and support Safety initiatives.

Minimum Job Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in safety, or related field preferred

• Minimum five years prior safety experience preferably in a multi-site organization

• Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to maintain and handle confidential information

• Ability to analyze data for trends and generate preventative counter-measures

• Excellent written and communication skills a must

• Ability to influence employees at all levels of the organization

• Knowledgeable with computer applications such as MS Office, including PowerPoint

• Must have working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA laws

• Experience with California Worker's Compensation Laws a plus
